Toddler/Preschool Care
Abagtha Academy is more that just a daycare. Much more. We pride ourselves on the experiences and education that is gained when your child attends our center. Our staff works daily to work with children from 6 weeks to 5 years teaching the pre-k 3 and pre-k 4 concepts that prepare them for their transition to kindergarten, as well as daily life skills and social skills they will use throughout life.
Kindergarten Readiness
Starting kindergarten is a big step for every child, and as parents we want to get them a leg up for when they get there. Abagtha Academy teaches the concepts that are key to early success in those early days and weeks of their new school. We work on shapes, colors, letters, numbers and many other skills to prepare them to succeed. We also go above the average by offering American Sign Language and Spanish starting in our Infant class. We add in Social Skills and Life Skills as well as Music in Motion, Yoga and Gardening, just to name a few.
Faith Based Program
Abagtha Academy is a Faith based private school. We incorporate the teachings of the Bible and the foundations of faith into our daily activities. (We do not focus on Religion) From verses of scripture to prayer before meals and naps, your child will benefit from the teachings of faith.
Spanish/Sign Language
In an ever changing and inclusive world, communication will rise to the top of essential skills. Because of this, Abagtha Academy feels that it is important to start instilling the basics of the Spanish language and ASL (American Sign Language).
Full Monthly Curriculum
The programs at Abagtha Academy are all curriculum based. Each month you will be provided a Newsletter with the full curriculum for the coming weeks. Each Teacher also sends home a Weekly Newsletter for the upcoming week, so you can be in the know too. Please use this to follow your child’s progress and continue the development of their skills as they are learning them with us.
Why Abagtha Academy?
'“Hands down, Abagtha Academy is one of the best in Texas” - We hear this over and over. It’s come to our attention, it’s for many reasons. Main points being:
1: Our ratio, we are WAY below the state requirements for ratio because our owners believe in one on one attention and focus on individual or small group learning. Where the average is 18:1 student ratio for a 3 yr old class, ours is 8:1 in that same class. We try our best to keep 2 staff in each classroom and classroom total no larger than 10 students, giving us an average of 10:2 or 5:1.
2: Family feeling.. not business pushy. We believe every parent and every child that enters our doors are here for the love and focus of family. We view Abagtha Academy as extended family. You are trusting us with your child during their most important years of life and most important years of brain development.
3. Low turn over. The current average of staff turn over in corporate/franchise centers is a new teacher every 30 days. While we are not perfect, we are well below this average with 1 every 6-10 months.
4. All of our staff know all of our students/families. Not just the staff that cares for your child. This helps in many areas: teachers out ill/vacations, others can easily fill in without disturbing children/stranger danger. Communication is better amongst staff. Children are comfortable the entire day.
